Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Manager 2, Program Management to lead strategic pipeline/new business captures with the objective to transition to program manager upon award. This individual will lead capture-related activities for business development opportunities with a focus on satellite ground station capabilities, particularly focused on SATCOM and Earth Observation/OPIR/Weather satellites. The successful candidate will have a chance to lead, develop, propose, win and manage some of the most exciting new capture opportunities in the areas of human and scientific exploration, space mobility and logistics, and advanced telecommunications.
This individual will work closely with Northrop Grumman’s P&L, Business Development, and Engineering leadership team and other industry and government partners to run all aspects of their assigned pursuits. Specific areas of focus include market research and data analytics, customer relationship management and shaping, and capture strategy development and execution.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategic Pipeline Capture Leadership
- Customer relationship management and shaping
- Customer acquisition approach analysis and shaping
- Opportunity identification and qualification
- Market research and pipeline data analytics
- Business case analysis and development
- Marketing plan development and execution
- Professional relationship development and maintenance with key decision makers
- Government Relations collaboration on customer engagement strategies and execution
- Future customer requirements analysis and planning
- Capture strategy development and execution
- Customer and competitor assessments
- Congressional budgetary and appropriation analysis
- Price-to-Win analysis
- Coordinating Opportunity Solutioning
- Workforce planning
- Teammate/supplier selection and relationship management
- Threat identification and mitigation
- Internal briefings to the Northrop Grumman leadership team
- Anticipate that this individual would transition to program management after award
Ethics
- Ensuring new business activity is carried out in accordance with government, customer, and Northrop Grumman values and policies/procedures/processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- 7+ years' experience with program management, customer management, capture, and/or business development
- Knowledge of customer acquisition processes
- Intimate understanding of satellite ground market segment and developed relationships with customer (user and stakeholder) and industry stakeholders in the segment
- Proven experience with defense capture and/or business development
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
- Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams
- Experience in program planning, budget development and execution, workforce planning, risk management, and the implementation of project processes and controls
- Experience with Wideband, Narrowband, and Protected SATCOM
- Experience with supporting ground systems for sensor payloads
- Intimate understanding of customer organizations including USSF SSC, NOAA NESDIS, DISA PEO COMMS, USA PEO C3T, USA PEO EIS, and/or USN NIWC
- Experience with International business development
- Active Secret (or higher) Clearance
