Summary of Role
We have a REMOTE opportunity for a Contracts Administrator, Principal to work with our team in Longmont, CO. The successful candidate will need to be within commuting distance of our facility in Longmont so they can be in the office if needed. The Contracts Administrator, Principal is a prime contact on contracts or projects and will manage contracts/proposals. The position requires knowledge of the government contracts and will conduct the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of government contracts (as Prime and Subcontractor) as well as third party agreements to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. The principal will develop solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensuring solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the as the internal primary point of contact for assigned programs and the secondary point of contact for the customer on all assigned contractual matters
- Provide coordination with other departments in the preparation of responses to customer correspondence and other requests
- Maintain close, professional relationships with internal and external customers
- Assist in the review of RFP requirements for contract risk
- Help review all assigned bids, proposals, and contracts, including changes, modifications and amendments prior to negotiation and execution
- Assist in negotiations with the customer’s representatives, providing information in accordance with established guidelines regarding the status of negotiations
- Responsible for posting and processing all contract documents, data, deliverables, funding, etc. and processing in the contracts management tool
- Administer the preparation and delivery of customer required data and reports in compliance with contractual requirements, monitoring the status of day-to-day deliverables and preparing all contractual documents to include DD250s, DD-1149s
- Issue subcontractor RFPs and negotiate terms and conditions including applicable U.S. Government and prime contractor flowdowns.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline
- Minimum of 10+ years related experience
- Experience compiling, reviewing, editing, organizing, tracking/storing contract documents or similar
- Experience communicating with external customers
- Experience interfacing with all levels and disciplines within the organization including leadership
- Prior experience in a deadline driven environment in order to meet scheduled deliverables
- Strong experience with MS office suite and/or data management tools
- Experience working with and interpreting large amounts of data
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Some travel will be required
Desired Skills
- Previous Government Contracting Experience, preferably in the Defense/Aerospace industry
- Working knowledge of export relations (ITAR / EAR) desirable
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, CLM tools, government portals and websites
