We are looking for a Project Accounting Manager to join our team. The Project Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for implementing and then maintaining the DCAA compliant accounting system, incorporating an understanding of manufacturing operations and generally accepted accounting practices. In addition, this position will be responsible for project accounting on government contracts. Other duties may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive accounting and forecasting of government programs to ensure appropriate revenue recognition
- Implement and maintain DCAA compliant accounting system including appropriate internal controls
- Manage DCAA audits and compliance including internal controls and allowable/unallowable costs, time tracking, etc.
- Develop cost pools, overhead rates and labor rates for government contracts
- Calculate actual contract costs and record associated journal entries in ERP system
- Maintain financial workbook for revenue recognition on government contracts in accordance with GAAP
- Research variances between actual costs and budgeted costs on government contracts
- Submit invoices for government contracts and ensure payment is collected
- Assist government team with finance related items as needed
- Alert Umbra management in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s).
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of project accounting including DCAA experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Solid understanding of FAR, DFAR & Indirect Rates
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance or a related field
- Experience with accounting software
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- CPA certification is a plus
- ERP experience a plus
- Manufacturing experience
