The Foxtrot Program Area, within the Space Security division of LM Space in King Of Prussia, PA is seeking a Software Architect. As the Software Architect, you will lead/drive application and system development activities. This position requires a high degree of technical and non-technical leadership skills. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and dedicated motivator to lead by example.
The Software Architect role is a program level role that requires close collaboration with the Chief Engineers, Program Manager, Agile Leads, and Cost Account Managers (CAMs). You will be working side by side with extraordinarily talented and experienced engineers, while having the opportunity to lead and mentor less experienced individuals on the team.
Candidate must be able to lead systems thinking, coordinate cross-team development, drive quality, and shoulder accountability for major aspects of mission and program success.
The selected Software Architect will be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining the Architecture in support of upcoming features/capabilities
• Establish a technical vision and/or roadmap for tech-insertion
• Defining, exploring, and supporting the implementation of value stream and program enablers to evolve solution intent; working directly with agile teams to implement, explore, or support the enablers
• High level architecture definition and decision making
• Developing and communicating the high level architecture and engineering to the Agile teams while decomposing capabilities to high level features (e.g. features that span teams) by working with the Chief Engineers.
• Participating in planning, definition, and high-level design of solution - exploring solution design alternatives
• Tracing requirements through the architecture. Developing and maintaining documentation that describes how the system satisfies the requirements.
• Defining subsystems and interfaces and allocating responsibilities to subsystems.
• Resolving technical impediments spanning teams and providing guidance and support within the teams as necessary
• Developing an integration plan that defines the component build order to enable continuous integration
• Ensuring that the system architecture (software, hardware, and network) meets the RMF/SCTM security requirements
• Working with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level solution intent
• Participating in Increment Planning, system demos, and retrospective events
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience across the software development life cycle from solution/requirements definition to integration and test
• Strong software design, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to design software solutions to address complex problems
• Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to manage/maintain positive relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
Security Clearance Requirements:
• Applicants must possess at minimum a Current Top Secret security clearance with SCI Eligibility (adjudicated OR the ability to obtain SCI access) for consideration.
• ***Per the required clearance level, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen***
• ***Selected candidates will be required to possess Active Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (TS/SCI) prior to starting employment.***
