Manufacturing Engineer

To grow our team, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support the Company's new and ongoing production activities.  The successful candidate will be responsible for turning design product specifications into detailed plans, manufacturing bills of material, and procedures, along with oversight of the manufacturing process and interfacing with suppliers. This is an in office position will be in Simi Valley, CA and will move to Newbury Park, CA by the end of the year.


Responsibilities

  • Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a production facility.
  • Analyzes assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.
  • Maximizes efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.
  • Create Work Instructions, define processes and procedures, coordinate tooling, interface with customer on manufacturing related product build issues and actions.
  • May conduct time and cost analysis of processes.
  • Oversight of plan execution by teams of technicians.
  • Redlining active travelers to incorporate changes and deviations.
  • Closely work with both design and quality engineering to meet product specifications.
  • Work closely with outside component and process suppliers.
  • Generate as-built reports for technical data package delivery.


Relevant Experience and Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
  • Requires 4 to 7 years of related experience, preferably in the Aerospace industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) products.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Experience in all elements of manufacturing from design development, re-engineering, to assembly/integration and test.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience establishing manufacturing build plans.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill PLM and First Resonance ION Factory OS.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Pay:   Salary $90,000 to $115,000 DOE
