INTERNSHIP ROLE:
We are scouting for an ambitious undergraduate student majoring in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field, ready to pioneer advancements in space technology testing. This internship provides a prime opportunity to be at the forefront of York's efforts in streamlining and automating the testing processes for our ACS/GNC components using a state-of-the-art flatsat setup. As an intern, your contributions will be central to enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our spacecraft systems, setting the stage for their deployment in real-world missions. You'll gain hands-on experience, working alongside our seasoned engineers, to transform manual testing paradigms into automated systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Familiarize oneself with the flatsat setup and integrate into the York ecosystem.
  • Work collaboratively to automate end-to-end testing of ACS/GNC components.
  • Develop and optimize testing scripts for attitude determination, attitude control, and PNT systems.
  • Contribute to the creation of a unified automated test system.
  • Analyze test results and present findings to the engineering team.
  • Engage actively in team discussions and iterative problem-solving sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate program from an accredited university, majoring in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • A foundational understanding of aerospace systems and testing procedures.Proficiency in MATLAB and associated software tools.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Stellar communication and presentation skills.
  • A team player with a proactive mindset and eagerness to learn.
  • An aspiration for a full-time role at York Space Systems post-graduation.
  • Demonstrable passion for spacecraft and space systems.
  • Availability to work on-site (Note: This is an in-office internship).
