Pixxel is a space data company building a health monitor for our planet. We are doing that by deploying a constellation of some of the world's most advanced earth imaging satellites in lower earth orbit and an analytics platform (on ground) with tools that enable easy application of this data across a multitude of sectors. Our fully deployed constellation will be capable of beaming down daily imagery of any place on earth. 

 

Pixxel seeks an experienced Mission Operations Engineer to spearhead the development and execution of spacecraft mission operations plan. Responsibilities: 

  1. Develop spacecraft mission operations plans, including nominal operations procedures and contingency procedures. 
  1. Write procedures in documentation as well as in automation infrastructure. 
  1. Meticulously test and validate both manual and automated procedures. 
  1. Conduct in-depth analysis of subsystems and payload performance. Document the findings in comprehensive reports. 
  1. Investigate anomalies. Prepare and execute recovery operations as needed. Participate in spacecraft on-call support. 
  1. Coordinate with flight dynamics, ground software support and subsystem teams to raise issues, gather required input. 

 

We expect you to have: 

  1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, or a related field of study. 
  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in space mission operation, operations preparation, understanding of ground segment and mission control systems. 
  1. Proficiency in Python programming. 
  1. Strong competence in working with the Unix (Linux) platform and writing shell scripts. 
  1. Experience in conducting system validation tests, including the incorporation of flight-like scenarios into the test environment. 
  1. Systems engineering background in satellites and ground systems. 
  1. Team player with positive and professional attitude. 
  1. Excellent communication skills in English in both writing and speaking.
