EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operations Manager - Aviation in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at customer site in Atlanta, GA. This role involves building and managing a team of maintenance controllers, technical support engineers, and other staff members ensuring timely aircraft maintenance, and collaborating with other departments and airline customers to maintain fleet airworthiness and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Operations team, including maintenance controllers, technical and support staff.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations, including the Maintenance Control Center.
  • Monitor and coordinate aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, resource allocation, and workload distribution.
  • Collaborate with the airline customers, program managers, and management to prioritize maintenance tasks and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Handle escalated issues and incidents, making critical decisions when necessary.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities align with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, including other airline maintenance departments, engineering, and technical support teams.
  • Analyze team performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for maintenance personnel.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience in aviation maintenance
  • 7-10 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA or equivalent) and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using MCC software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project management experience is a plus.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $84,000.00 - $112,000.00
