Working in the Supply Chain Team

The Supply Chain team has a vital role in managing the relationship with one of the most important partners of Open Cosmos, its suppliers. The team sources, evaluates and procures goods and services in support of all Open Cosmos activities, enabling operations across the whole company. 


We ensure that we can deliver our broad space mission service offering, building on top of the work of key suppliers and ensuring our competitiveness in the market.



What will you be doing?

This is an exciting role that enables you to have a meaningful impact in Open Cosmos. You’ll be responsible for leading, coordinating and writing requests for Proposals (RfP) and Request for Quotations (RfQ). This is a great opportunity to be a strategic partner to the technical, project management and commercial teams, ensuring we have the best technical, cost and contractual definitions. 


Alongside this you will support the development of tools and database to automatise the procurement process, perform quotation trade-offs and execute supplier selection

Your knowledge will enable you to create Purchase orders on the information systems in line with the terms/contracts negotiated; to expedite orders and following up with the finance team to ensure invoices are paid on time and maintained in the database; to track supplier performance in line with processes, ensuring suppliers deliver on their contract commitments; to maintain supplier information such as cost, lead time, quality and production capacity and ensuring the database is up to date; to explore and maintain Supplier market and space intelligence information to enable good quality decision making. 


We are focused on continuous improvement so you will have a lot of opportunities to implement Supply Chain KPI’s and mechanisms of continuous improvement within the  supply chain which in turn helps deliver space missions on time

What you need to be successful

  • You’ll be confident using different technologies related to satellite business. 
  • You’ll be capable to individually engage in or broker technical conversations with suppliers of different commodities, with capability to understand and challenge when needed.
  • You’ll be passionate about understanding space systems and associated technical drivers as related to the sourcing and procurement of products and services.
  • You’ll be comfortable applying procurement activities to the space sector. 
  • You’ll be proactive and self-motivated, navigating and mastering the nuances between individual and team work. 
  • You’ll be communicating a lot, so be confident speaking, listening and writing, using your strengths to influence others and challenge where needed.
