Our core competencies include conducting preliminary design of aerospace concepts, performing detailed multidisciplinary engineering analysis, developing commercial aerospace software, prototyping spacecraft hardware components, and conducting market and economic research within the aerospace industry. We serve clients from the Department of Defense, NASA, and the commercial sector.
Currently, we are seeking a Software Developer / Software Programmer with a background in engineering to support development activities in the areas of engineering workflow management and high-performance engineering analyses, including propulsion systems, trajectory optimization, and hypersonic systems. The position is located in Atlanta. GA. US Citizenship is required.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Software Team delivers commercial off the shelf (COTS) products and custom code development for internal and external customers. Projects include development of engineering design and analysis software for aerospace vehicle systems (primarily relating to the propulsion and trajectory disciplines). Each project will include development of new software capabilities, integrated testing, optimization for available computing resources, and graphical user interface design (when applicable).
- Work with a small team of software developers on a variety of aerospace-focused projects
- Support projects ranging from custom software and scripts to engineering analysis applications
- Aid in the development and maintenance of our COTS software product line
- Work in a variety of programming languages and across various software stack layers
- Optimize software performance for multi-threaded applications
- Support interactions with U.S. government and other external customers
- Troubleshoot and solve technical problems related to our COTS products

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- BS degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or similar engineering related degree
- Expertise with one or more of the following programming languages:Java, Python, Rust, C/C++
- Passion for aerospace applications and the space industry
- Ability to independently debug and optimize software for performance
- Familiarity with software version control (i.e. Git, SVN, Mercurial)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, collaborative environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE...
- Experience with engineering software tool development
- Working knowledge of aerospace flight terminology and typical variable names
- Skills and experience ranging the software stack for application-level software
- Degrees in both Computer Science and Engineering
- Disciplinary knowledge in propulsion, trajectory, controls, structures, systems engineering
- Experience with the following:
- Automated software testing and continuous integration (DevOps)
- Python scientific libraries
- Graphical User Interface (GUI) development
- Object- Oriented Programming (OOP)
