Description

As the Head of Manufacturing you will be responsible for the teams and equipment within machining, welding, manufacturing engineering, assembly, additive manufacturing, and facility operations.  You will build and evolve company systems and processes to act in direct support of rocket vehicle construction and testing.  Leveraging your previous experience, initiative, and deep manufacturing knowledge you will develop and execute department growth plans that facilitate company expansion into increased production throughputs and fast-cadence design iterations.  You will lead manufacturing AS9100 certification efforts with high efficiency and low overhead; targeting a minimum viable product result which acts to advance company quality documentation while preserving a culture of nimble development.

You must stay organized, focused, and clear in order to quickly digest information and delegate out appropriate actions and expectations.

You will have ownership responsibility for budgets and schedule management, while keeping in close communication with internal engineering and testing customers to ensure their current and future needs are met.  Successful management and leadership of internal manufacturing teams to achieve company objectives is key to success and achieving Stoke’s goal of seamlessly connecting Earth and space.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead manufacturing teams across multiple departments
  • Instill Stoke values and company culture throughout organization
  • Assist in the downselection and purchase of capital manufacturing equipment with expert input
  • Maintain close relationships and communications with internal design customers
  • Coordinate labor and equipment support for 1st and 2nd stage rocket vehicle construction
  • Facility expansion planning and coordination
  • Plan and execute department growth initiatives to advance throughput and capabilities, including AS9100 certification planning
  • Deliver efficient operations across all departments; ensuring resources are being applied to priority work

Qualifications

  • Vision for the execution of creating a world class rocket factory
  • Strong leadership positive attitude and personality to drive teams to results
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant manufacturing environments
  • 5+ years of management or team leadership experience
  • Successful execution of simultaneous company growth and process development
  • Strong background in capital equipment selection and procurement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and conflict management

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 5 Range: $164,300 - $246,500
