Job Summary
As the Engineering Site Lead, you will be responsible for the Millennium Space Systems on-site operations in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves serving as a direct liaison with senior customers and peer industry partners and business leaders in the region to build and maintain effective relationships. The role also involves understanding customer requirements, architectures, interfaces, and roadmaps towards the customer’s future state. The role also involves facility operations, recruiting and retaining talent, and managing allocated budget. From time-to-time, the role demands travel to Millennium Space Systems Headquarters in El Segundo, CA to support critical customer visits, working meetings, proposal support, gate reviews, and strategy sessions. The role involves providing leadership to the site and workforce, making day-to-day important decisions, and working closely with the local workforce as well as with other company executives to drive the strategy, grow the business in the region, and support meeting or exceeding overall company goals.

Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership: Support the VP of Engineering in developing and communicating the company’s vision, mission, and strategic goals from the Engineering perspective
- Engineering Management: Oversee day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of engineering departments in the region. Monitor key performance engineering indicators (KPIs) and implement measures to improve operational efficiency and productivity to include staffing, retention, process improvement, and compliance
- Engineering Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing staff in the region. Foster a positive and inclusive corporate culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and employee engagement
- Manage the current and long-term engineering staffing. Based on input from REAs and PMs, forecast work and create tentative plans for possible work allocation
- Support customer, industry, and teammate engagements in the region. Support customer, industry, and teammate visits and events in the region. Develop talking points for customer, industry, and teammate engagements. Develop tailored presentations for customer, industry, and teammate engagements leading to actionable outcomes. Share relevant engagement information and actions with the workforce. Travel to interact with customers and workforce
- Support the VP of Engineering on company initiatives as required such as vision execution on long range business plans, legislative affairs activities, government operations activities, company contributions activities, and other interfacing and outreaching with Boeing and MSS leaders, plans, processes, and reviews
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; Master’s degree in a technical field or MBA is preferred; PhD degree in technical field is a plus
- Must have experience with small satellite constellations development
- Experience with facilities and finance management
- Experience with recruitment and retention strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Demonstrated ability in communicating to Senior level customer officials as well as internal Senior level leadership
- Demonstrated ability to initiate change and can sell the organization on change
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong, systematic problem-solving skills
- Prior senior military experience preferred
- 20+ years’ experience in aerospace industry is a plus
- Demonstrated analytical and attention to details/skills
- Proven experience in continuous improvement
- Demonstrated progressively responsible management experience in leading end-to-end organizations and achieving positive results
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with customers, management and peers both internally and externally
- Excellent communication skills and overall organization knowledge are required to develop plans and policies consistent with Company policies and procedures
- Experience with proposal development for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community is preferred

Summary Pay-Range
- Level L: $166,600 - $245,000
