EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Architect - Mobility Services in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Shaping the architecture of our technology solutions, encompassing internet connectivity, software development, networking, and cloud services.
• Responsible for designing and implementing highly integrated systems that meet the demands of performance, scalability, security, and reliability for aeronautical and maritime systems.
• Develop and maintain high-level system architectures that combine internet connectivity, telecommunication, software components, networking infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Ensure architectural solutions align with the company's strategic objectives and industry best practices.
• Define strategies for connectivity services for mobility services that guarantee high-speed, secure, and reliable data, voice, and video communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize services for a seamless experience.
• Work closely with software development teams to ensure software components are designed for efficient integration within the system architecture.
• Implement APIs, microservices, and other software architecture best practices to support development initiatives.
• Plan and manage network architecture to facilitate seamless data transfer, low-latency communication, and redundancy.
• Evaluate, select, and integrate cloud services from providers such as AWS and Google Cloud to enhance system performance and scalability.
• Implement cloud-native solutions for application deployment, data storage, and processing.
• Develop strategies for system scalability to accommodate increasing demands and to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement performance optimization techniques such as load balancing and caching.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering a related technical field
• 7+ years of experience as a Systems Architect with a strong focus on telecommunication, software development, networking, and cloud services.
• Previous experience in cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Previous experience in software development principles and practices.
• Previous experience in networking technologies and infrastructure design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering a related technical field
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Professional).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
