SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Wiring Harness Electrical Engineer who will primarily be responsible for designing wiring harnesses for the Axiom Space Station. This position reports to Hiring Leader Title. This role is onsite and will be based at our ASTC facility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain electrical wiring diagrams and harness architecture to meet system requirements (e.g. functionality, electrical loading, EMC/EMI, and routing constraints)
- Design, drafting, and review of electrical wiring 3D models, assembly drawings, and installation drawings for spacecraft electrical and avionics systems, including power distribution, RF, and data busses.
- Selection of electrical wiring assembly, installation, and fabrication components such as connectors, backshells, wire, insulation, and contact insertion tooling
- Leads, develops, and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
- Support milestone reviews such as PDR, CDR, and SDR
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in wire harness design or a combined equivalent of education and experience
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 or NASA-STD-8739.4 for design and fabrication standards
- Understanding and application of EMI/RFI, signal shielding, and bonding principles.
- Understanding of wire derating criteria and capability to calculate wire sizing requirements
- Preferred experience with SolidWorks Electrical, for designing systems level wire diagrams.

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Physical Requirements (For Technicians or others, this may require edits)
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
