Job description

A thriving economy in space is needed to make life on Earth more vibrant, sustainable, and equitable. Space technology will enable global access to information, solutions to climate change, answers to global food security, products that transform healthcare, clean energy production, and more. Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world’s most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.

Description

Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Automated, aggressive testing from the embedded rocket software to the test stand hardware is a key enabler to reaching that dream. Your primary responsibility will be developing a test framework, similar to Netflix’s Chaos Monkey for hardware, that puts the rocket through its paces. You will also help build out a developer workflow for both software and non-software engineers to tighten the test loop and provide visibility throughout the development process. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop a test framework/platform for automated testing of both software and hardware.
  • Provide fleetwide health and status visibility of the vehicle software fleet (test stands and dev benches included).
  • Create a developer experience that allows software and non-software engineers alike to iterate quickly with visibility throughout the development.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional command of automated test frameworks
  • Experience in Rust
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • 2-4 years of experience in the platform, devops or infrastructure engineering fields
  • Expert in CI/CD pipelines like GitHub actions or Jenkins
  • Proficiency with containers and container management like docker and docker compose
  • Experience with edge devices and bare metal embedded systems
  • Enjoy breaking (and fixing) things
  • Ability to lead
  • Ability to follow
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with bringing up Software in the Loop (SIL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) systems
  • Expert in fleet management tools like chef, puppet or ansible
  • Worked with AWS SSM secrets management

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Equity

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 2: $114,600 – $172,000
  • Level 3: $143,300 – $215,000

Our job posts are intentionally written to attract a wide variety of experience levels, and we make decisions about the right fit on a per-candidate basis.

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.
