DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses hand tools, power tools, and machines to fabricate components
  • Sets up and maintains equipment and tools
  • Collaborates with design, engineering, and production teams to develop manufacturing projects
  • Manufactures products from a variety of raw materials, including wood, metal, composites, and plastic
  • Operates shop equipment, such as CNC routers, drill presses, saws, press brakes, grinders, and laser cutters
  • Assists in the development of prototyping capabilities
  • Lifts and moves heavy objects and materials
  • Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, and/or forklifts
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10-15 years’ experience in fabrication, R&D, or shop environment
  • Technician, sheet metal, or welding certification a plus
  • Safe operation of power and hand tools
  • Knowledge of materials, fasteners, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret schematics and assembly drawings
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Basic navigation of CAD software, such as Solidworks
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or confined spaces
  • Operation of laser cutters, CNC routers, mills, and lathes
  • Knowledge of electromechanical, pressure, and hydraulic systems is a plus

 

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

 

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs
  • Must be able to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and/or forklifts
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain 10% of the time
  • Operate standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.)
