ispace Technologies, U.S. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Structural Dynamics Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis for lunar lander systems in a rapid development environment
- Create Finite Element Models from scratch while iterating designs to result in positive component qualification margins, both independently and in a team setting
- Plan, oversee, and conduct dynamic testing including component and system level shock, random vibration, and acoustics
- Justify analytical models with industry standard hand calculations
- Develop internal code and tools for analysis and post processing, including but not limited to component environment derivation, shock attenuation, and fatigue life analysis, per NASA and industry standards
- Document analyses and substantiate results thoroughly
- Collaborate with hardware, supply chain, and integration teams
Required Skills/Experience
- 5+ years of aerospace industry experience, ideally with space companies
- Experience with FEM software packages
- Extensive experience with high frequency dynamic analysis including shock, random vibration, and acoustics
- Proven track record building analytical models, processing data, and presenting recommendations to the broader team to support verification efforts
- Familiarity with project management tools, including Atlassian
- BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Launch vehicle or spacecraft experience
- Proficiency in Simcenter 3D (NX CAE), Nastran, Wave6, and Matlab
- Direct dynamic testing experience at both component and assembly level
- Knowledgeable about environmental testing and correlation efforts
- Experience with common industry standards for spacecraft environmental design, including but not limited to GSFC-STD-7000a and SMC-S-016
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced design and development environment
- Schedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility required
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Compensation/Benefits:
- Competitive base salary starting at $110k+
