Working in the systems Team

The successful candidate will be joining Open Cosmos’ systems team and will be responsible to technically manage the development and implementation of satellite missions to fulfil the company needs as well as feeding onto the product roadmap to continuously improve our services with a very customer centric attitude.


What will you be doing?

  • Lead the delivery of space missions being the mission technical responsible.
  • Coordinate different technical teams to deliver a consistent technical solution.
  • Produce and manage requirements and verification plans.
  • Perform system level analysis, calculations and trade-offs.
  • Create and implement MBSE methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Deliver FMECA and FDIR analysis.
  • Support bid work, sales team, mission and operations teams, customer support or any other teams within the company with technical information and documentation related to systems engineering.
  • Maintain systems level documentation.
  • Work independently and under pressure.
  • Take initiative and work in a self-driven manner.
  • Embrace challenge and work outside of the comfort zone.
  • Commit to fulfil customer requirements and expectations and managing communication with suppliers. 


What you need to be successful

  • Proven experience in satellite systems engineering and have managed the full cycle of a space mission, from conception to end of life and across the different segments, space, ground, user and launch segment.
  • Have experience of MBSE and MBSE tools as well as FMECA, FDIR and CONOPS.
  • Good knowledge of the subsystems involved in a satellite: power system, on board computer, AOCS, comms, propulsion, mechanical.
  • Hands on experience in AIT (Assembly Integration and Testing).
  • You will have worked in a regulatory environment and dealt with: frequency allocation, insurance, export, debris mitigation.
  • Prior experience in training and upskilling internal and external teams.
  • Proactive individual, who is able to learn and adapt to new ways of working. 
  • Honesty, openness and self awareness.
