About the Role
At Capella, we’re growing our Federal team and we are seeking a Lead for U.S. Government Engagement, with experience working in the intelligence community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). In this role, you’ll work with the Capella Federal team and technical leads across the company to deliver Capella SAR capabilities for key programs. You will engage with the IC and DoD user community to understand key mission requirements and present Capella capabilities, imagery, data products in that mission context, including the use of Capella imagery in imagery exploitation applications. You will support the Federal team in reviewing imagery and developing presentations to highlight specific use cases that provide mission relevant examples.
The Details: this is a multi-faceted role supporting US federal, military and intelligence community customers. We’re looking for someone who can speak on a peer level with military and IC collection managers and analysts, manage small projects or assist with larger ones, and handle some business aspects of projects and programs such as reporting metrics, and monitoring cost/schedule/performance. You’ll be regularly interacting with coworkers, partners at other companies, and DoD/IC representatives and multiple levels virtually and in-person.
This position is located in the Northern Virginia or Greater Denver Colorado areas (hybrid) and requires some days in an office or SCIF, so you must be local or willing to relocate to one these two locations.
Required
- Active TS/SCI eligibility
- Experience with military collection management processes
- Familiarity with GEOINT analysis
- Experience working with GEOINT imagery and data
- Understanding of, and ability to explain SAR concepts
- Experience working with the DoD and/or Intelligence Community
- Understanding of general Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) products and workflows
- Experience translating (summarizing and communicating) capability requirements effectively for customers and for engineers
- Ability to document and explain user workflows
- Strong writing skills to support delivery of studies, proposals and supporting program documentation for projects
- Ability to succeed and excel in both office and remote working environments and a fast, flat, flexible startup culture – be proactive in customer engagement and working across inter-company teams
- Ability to travel up to 25%/ month - primarily within the United States . International travel may be required 1-3 times per year.
- Have transportation and able to travel within the Greater Washington DC or Denver/Boulder metro area monthly
Desired
- Experience working as a GEOINT analyst
- Experience working with directly SAR imagery and data
- Understanding of imagery exploitation tools (such as SocetGXP, iSpy, RemoteView, etc.)
- Understanding of geospatial standards or strong interest to build expertise in this area
- Experience with Geospatial applications such as ArcGIS, GDAL, QGIS, and other open source geospatial software
- Sufficient comfort with Python and REST APIs to be able to run pre-existing Jupyter Notebook or Postman examples
- Bachelor's degree in remote sensing, geography, or other relevant field (may substitute equivalent years of experience)
Additional Required Qualifications
- This position requires special access to conduct the work and the selected candidate must be a US Citizen, with an active Top Secret security clearance with a current Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
Compensation Ranges
DC Metropolitan Area: $99,100 - $148,700
Greater Denver Area: $88,200 - $132,200
Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills.

Work Environment
This position is hybrid between home and our regional offices, with occasional (avg 3-4x monthly) local or out-of-area travel for meetings, conferences and briefings
Physical Activities
Office environment; heaviest somewhat regular lifting and carrying will be your luggage for travel. Several times a year will be conferences which will require lifting and carrying in the form of setting up a booth or display; these can be >50lbs. Conferences will also involve standing or walking for significant periods.
Physical Demands
- 70% Sitting, 20% Standing, and 10% Walking
- Could be asked to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50lbs.
