Hughes Network Systems an EchoStar Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer (Commercial Communication Systems). This position is located at our Gaithersburg, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Deliver high quality, sustainable, and maintainable network protocol and control software solutions that adhere to design guidelines and principles.
• Improve the maintainability and stability of codebase by fixing issues and adding necessary enhancements to existing systems.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and provide technical support to resolving issues in production environment.
• Maintain software documentation for future developers. Participate in software release planning, in subsystem level test and execution.

Basic Requirements: 

• Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience in C/C++, Python and Linux (including gdb and Makefile) OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in C/C++, Python and Linux (including gdb and Makefile).
• Experience must include 2 months in each of the following: software development; HTML; CSS; JavaScript; jQuery; HTTP; and Git.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
