GNSS Signal In Space Engineer

Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

As part of the Payload Engineering Team, you will have the following responsibilities: 

• Be part of integrated Navigation Engineering team co-locatedin Rome working in G2G satellite, Lunar and LEO PNT opportunities in close cooperation with Payload team members
• Modelling, analyze, characterize the Navigation Signal-In-Space for the next generation GNSS
• End-to-End Navigation Satellite Payload modelling and simulation, including implementation of the specific payload architecture
• Identify improvement of the current GNSS Signal-In-Space and perform relevant trade-off between alternative solutions
• Define and implement algorithm and tools for Navigation Signal performance analysis; acquire knowledge, operating, maintaining of the current tools in the company
• Define, plan, conduct simulation campaigns to evaluate end-to-end Navigation Payload Performances, support trade-offs and Signal-In-Space evolutions; interpreter and analyze results
• Define, plan, conduct test campaigns to evaluate Navigation Payload Performances and validate relevant analyses
• Support the pre-developments activities related in the areas of Navigation Payload, Signal and Performance
• Support development and procurement phase of Navigation Payload equipment and contribute to Payload budgets
• Contribute to internal and R&D activities for the design, modelling, architectural trade-off and performance assessment of advanced Navigation payloads;
• Contribute to the development/usage of section related laboratory facilities and analysis/simulation tools;
• Maintain state-of-the-art expertise by monitoring the space Signal-In-Space trends and applying them in the day-to-day tasks
• Acting as technical interface with the Customer, including coordination of the Navigation Engineering Team, as needed; presentation of the achieved results in technical meetings in front of national and international stakeholders (industrial entities, customer, conferences);

Skills & Experience 

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

• PhD or Masters degree in Telecommunications, Communications, Electronic Engineering; Signal Processing, Phys or equivalent
• Deep knowledge of GNSS Signal-In-Space and Galileo SIS-ICD
• Deep knowledge on digital signal processing, encoding techniques and channel models
• Knowledge of Telecommunication systems, Galileo and others GNSS Systems;
• Knowledge of GNSS receiver processing and algorithms
• Propensity to participate in the team work and cooperate with other team members;
• Familiarity with measurement instruments for space applications in the domain of telecommunications and remote sensing;
• Very good knowledge of software and simulation tools and programming (Matlab/Simulink,C/C++, Python);
• Promoting cooperation and team-working, problem solving;
• Fluency in English is mandatory;
• Italian languages is desirable;
