Your Mission

As a Junior Process Plant Engineer, you will join the Propulsion Test Development Team which is an essential part of the Launch System Department and acts as an internal engineering service provider to other development departments in the company to design and procure ground infrastructure. The goal of safe, reliable and rapid testing and space launch operations can only be achieved with support from a wide range of rigorously designed, developed and built ground infrastructure. This includes ground equipment, such as test stands for research & development, qualification and acceptance testing of propulsion systems and rocket stages, as well as entire launchpads. Close cooperation with other departments such as Propulsion Technology and Launch Vehicle teams is necessary since their requirements dictate the design of the ground support equipment. As a Junior Process Plant Engineer, you play a critical supporting role during the development and implementation phases of such facilities.

More specifically, you will:

  • Support the construction and project management as well as the entire engineering/project team in day-to-day business and organizational matters
  • Support in subcontractor management
  • Travel to construction and test sites for supportive on-site tasks during construction and/or commissioning
  • Create and maintain various documents; maintenance of project documentation e.g. project schedules
  • Check 3D piping models, isometrics, BOMs/MTOs, P&IDs, technical manufacturing and assembly drawings
  • Support in hardware procurement matters
  • Independently coordinate, prepare and follow-up on appointments
  • Keep attendance lists and meeting minutes

Who you are and what you have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, process, chemical engineering (or equivalent), Technical training education (Staatlich geprüfte/r Techniker/-in) or Completed apprenticeship (Ausbildung) with a few years of work experience in the oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical industry or similar
  • Experience working in a project driven environment
  • Experience with 3D/2D design/panning software like AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar
  • Adjusting self-sufficiently and quickly to a changing work environment
  • Highly organised, effective team player with high attention to detail
  • Communicating actively and openly in a constructive manner
  • Can-do attitude
  • Fluent in English and German

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience building mechanical assemblies
