We are currently seeking a Director of Security/FSO (Facility Security Officer) to join our team in Golden, Colorado. In this role you will, in collaboration with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), lead and direct security measures required for implementing the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and ensure compliance with relevant Foreign, Ownership, Control or Influence (FOCI) mitigation measures. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all industrial security concerns and requirements, providing expert guidance and briefing to both management and staff. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) security-related policies and procedures, overseeing personnel security and physical security programs, including personnel clearances.
The Role
- Develop and implement security requirements for secure payload processing and operations facilities, teams, and program infrastructure.
- Create and execute a comprehensive security education program to ensure personnel are well-trained on all required security topics.
- Establish and implement Standard Practice Procedures, Emergency Action Plans, Program Protection plans, and Security Processes, including guidance for classified efforts, Controlled Unclassified Information, and Proprietary materials.
- Track classified contracts and sub-contract activities to ensure compliance with DD-254’s.
- Manage a self-inspection program to meet DCSA requirements and oversee facility badging system, security controls, and access procedures.
- Collaborate with the Program Execution and Business Development teams as needed.
- Fulfill COMSEC Custodian duties, responsible for the protection and accountability of Collateral COMSEC material.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for working in the Space Community and engaging with government customers across various security classification levels.
- Efficiently manage Security budgets, including indirect budget and capital expense requirements.
Must Haves
- Required: US Citizenship and a current active DoD Top Secret Clearance with an investigation in the last 6 years.
- Bachelor's Degree or 12-15 years of direct experience supporting DoD and IC programs.
- Extensive knowledge of government security regulations, manuals, and processes, such as NISPOM, ISLs, ICD’s, OPSEC Principles, FOCI-Mitigation, and COMSEC requirements. Familiarity with DISS, NISS, STEPP, SWFT, Central Office of Record, Classification Management, and Insider Threat program requirements.
- Experience working with Collateral, SCI, and Special Access Programs.
- Facility Security Officer certification.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Thorough understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) Collateral, DoD Special Access Program (SAP), and Intelligence Community (IC) requirements.
- Working knowledge of all industrial security program functions, including PHYSEC, PERSEC, COMSEC, OPSEC, Counterintelligence, Insider Threat, systems security, and program protection.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with ISSO duties and requirements.
- COMSEC custodian certification.
- Experience and direct participation with government/industry security organizations (ISWG, NDIA, AIA, NCMS, etc.).
