What You’ll Do: 

You will be responsible for the definition and procurements of the operational Flight Dynamics elements for our future satellites up to their handover to the Operational team. This will also include the monitoring of the in-orbit satellite fleet performances over their operational lifetime.

Within this group, the Flight Dynamics Engineer will also be responsible for various orbital mechanics studies relating to the current satellite fleet (GEO/LEO) and future projects (mainly constellation systems).

 

As Flight Dynamics Fleet Engineer, reporting to the Head of Satellite Fleet Engineering, within the Engineering Department, your main missions will be:

  • Perform deployment studies for satellite constellations in Low-Earth Orbit (number of satellites, orbit characteristics, associated metrics, launch strategy, gradual entry into service, etc.);
  • Tack charge of initial orbital mechanics studies for different types of constellations (SSA in LEO/GTO/GEO, IoT in low-Earth orbit, etc.);   
  • Support for the various constellation system program managers (OneWeb, IRIS², ELO, CoS³, etc.) for orbital mechanics subjects;
  • Flight dynamics studies on the needs for the current GEO fleet (fleet management, drift, end-of-life, space law, debris management, etc.) in collaboration with the Operations team.
  • Provide Engineering Support in case of Fleet orbital anomalies.

 

 

What it Takes: 

  • Engineering degree (BAC+5) or equivalent, specialising in space systems
  • Solid skills in Flight Dynamics and Orbital Mechanics
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work in an agile, cross-functional team
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • High proficiency in English

 

What We’d Love:

  • Experience in satellite constellation design is a plus
  • Ability to program (Python, Matlab, etc.) is a plus

 

Where You’ll Be: 

The position is based at Issy les Moulineaux, Paris Area, France: modern offices just on the edge of Paris.
