Job Summary
We are seeking a Strategic People Partner (Human Resources Business Partner) who will serve as a trusted advisor supporting two Vice Presidents and their geographically dispersed leadership teams. The Strategic People Partner (SPP) will be responsible for designing and delivering people and organizational strategies and programs to optimize people performance to achieve organizational business objectives. This role reports to the Strategic People Partner Director for Defense Systems Group with a dotted line to the two Vice Presidents within the Defense Systems Group. Moderate travel required.
Work Model: Hybrid, El Segundo CA campus (on site regularly with days to be determined)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop insightful business assessments to provide creative, effective, timely HR solutions
- Design integrated people and organizational strategies and solutions by leveraging and partnering with the People Operations Centers of Expertise (COEs)
- Lead and execute our people processes and programs such as workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, labor relations, compensation planning, and others
- Build strong business client leadership relationships; create effective partnerships across People Operations COEs, Finance, Legal, and other Enterprise Services organizations.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions); identify talent issues before they impact the business
- Continually assess needs to optimize the engagement and performance of our people
- Use analytics to develop people and organizational solutions, proactively mitigate risk, and enable informed decision making
- Consult on organizational design, change management, and culture
- Develop employee strategies for improved engagement and employee performance
- Collaborate with management on development of talent and leadership succession planning
- Support and enable leaders to make informed talent decisions and to hold their organizations accountable for results; give courageous and thoughtful feedback and coaching
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources related discipline (Organization Development, Management, Business, Psychology, or related field)
- Eight or more years of human resources experience, with at least four or more years of experience at the HR Business Partner level.
- Experience influencing at all levels and developing an internal network to gain support for HR initiatives; demonstrated ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated strategic orientation, business acumen, problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience navigating cultural and business sensitivities to champion diversity & inclusion, performance, and employee engagement
- Successful track record as a HR Business partner and trusted advisor
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects/tasks/client groups
- Act with a sense of urgency; a self-starter; results driven; gain trust and credibility
- Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems and determine the best course of action
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Willingness and ability to travel on occasion
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government (U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance)

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
