POSITION
Satellite Electrical Engineers
Xplore is seeking several highly motivated Satellite Electrical Engineers to join the team. As a Satellite Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, development and integration of electrical systems for Xplore's low Earth orbit satellite constellation. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met and support the company's mission to revolutionize the space industry. Xplore is pioneering a new approach to delivering Earth observation, space domain awareness, and astronomy data products, and we need an exceptional engineer to help us achieve our goals.
This role will report to the Chief Engineer.
Work for this role will be performed at Xplore in Redmond, Washington.
As an Xplore Satellite Electrical Engineer, you will help to shape the future of space exploration, working with an exceptional team that is passionate about creating revolutionary technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of electrical systems for Xplore's satellite constellation.
- Development of electrical interface specifications and test procedures.
- Support the integration and testing of satellites, subsystems, and components.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met.
- Conduct testing, analysis, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Provide technical support to other team members as needed.
- Document all work performed and participate in design reviews.
Requirements
- Applicants must be a current U.S. citizen or current Green Card holder to be considered for this role
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the satellite industry.
- Demonstrated experience with high-speed digital, analog, RF, and power electronics design.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical interface standards, protocols, and data bus architectures (RS-485, I2C, LVDS, etc.).
- Demonstrated understanding of spacecraft power and thermal control systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar).
- Demonstrated familiarity with aerospace standards as related to electronic system qualification.
The top 4-6 measurable actions to be accomplished during the first 6 months:
1. Review and improve the current design of electrical systems for the satellites
2. Develop
- new electrical systems as needed
- electrical interface specifications
- electrical interface testing
3. Testing and analysis of electrical systems
4. Support other team members
5. Document processes and work performed
Compensation
Xplore has needs for multiple Satellite Electrical Engineers. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,000 - $140,000 per year based upon level of experience. Xplore has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States when the role is remote. This allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.

Health Care Plan
Employees (and their families) can be covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. The HSA qualified plan is for full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week.
Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
Full time employees earn PTO at a rate of 1.33 days per month. There are a minimum of 13 paid holidays each year for full-time employees.
