Requirements
An opportunity to join us during a period of substantial growth as we prepare to launch our new cutting edge products.
Based on site in our Reading offices you'll manage our supply base and sourcing components and materials to support research and development, pre-production and production builds across an array of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
Your agility and flexibility are key to delivering our innovative technology to global customers and will ensure your success in this role, which will be highly visible as we scale-up over the next six months.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Commodity management across all mechanical & electro-mechanical categories
- Develop and manage supplier relationships ensuring on-time delivery of goods/services
- Work closely with Engineering to develop new technologies, suppliers & scalability
- Manage end-to-end RFI/RFQ process including pricing & contract negotiations
- Liaise with Finance, Legal, Operations & Program management to ensure targets are met
- Creation & execution of Commodity strategies to effectively manager suppliers & risk
- Management of โApproved Supplier Listโ balancing capacity, risk, cost & delivery
- Identify, develop & execute cost-savings opportunities across the supply base
- Supplier selection/audits liaising closely with Quality team members
Ideally, You'll Have:
- Experience working within Sourcing/Supply Chain in a manufacturing business
- Experience in managing multiple suppliers, programs & deliverables against schedules
- Deep understanding of injection molding technologies and associated supply base
- Budget management experience including associated manufacturing CAPEX
- Forecasting of volumes and capacity creation planning across multiple suppliers
- Solid experience of ERP/MRP implementation and able to shape business procedures
- Familiar with Electronic components such as PCBโs, PCBAโs, ICs & RF constraints
- Great organisational skills and able to manage multiple workstreams & suppliers
- Previous experience working in a start-up environment
- Knowledge of high technology sectors including Satellite/ Telecoms experience
- Mechanical Engineering background to support supplier liaison & technical reviews
- Experience of working within similar Aerospace/Defence industries
- CIPS qualified or studying/working towards CIPS qualifications
