Engineering Data and Product Configuration Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Data and Product Configuration Administrator. We are looking for an experienced business-level administrator for our engineering data systems, including Windchill Product Lifecycle Management, ION Manufacturing Execution, and SharePoint document systems.  Accurate management of the data in these systems provides a critical part of our overall product lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of the entire Configuration Management framework, including identifying and documenting the items to be controlled and the information to be captured and recorded.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute configuration management throughout the project lifecycle, including development, migration, deployment, and security
  • Oversee the daily management of configuration items
  • Define and document best practices for the creation and management of bill of material, CAD documents, and other related documents
  • Support design, quality, and manufacturing engineers by clarifying processes, answering questions, and directly helping when issues arise
  • Review and update configuration management processes
  • Plan and oversee enhancements, often in collaboration with IT personnel and outside service suppliers
  • Define and run end-user validation and acceptance testing exercises
  • Liaise between the end-users and the software supplier on technical issues
  • Manage licensing and permissions for individual users, groups, and roles
  • Investigate and troubleshoot workflow and data issues


Relevant Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Information Technology or 5 years of directly applicable experience in an Aerospace environment
  • Certification or experience with ERP/MRP/MES systems a plus
  • Direct experience supporting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or Enovia
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) products
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, ability to effectively schedule and prioritize workflow, and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and process management skills as well as keen attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Must have strong multi-tasking skills and be able to work well under pressure
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change within an evolving group

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Local interoffice travel expected (25 miles one-way) during setup of new facility (in Newbury Park, CA) and shutdown of old facility (in Simi Valley, CA)

Pay:   Salary $90,000 to $130,000 annually DOE


Employment Type and Exempt Status:  Full-time / Exempt
